Masters of Archaeology, University of West Bohemia, Czech Republic
Jan has graduated Masters degree of Archaeology at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Czech Republic. His focus is on landscape analysis, topographic surveys, photogrammetry, remote sensing and GIS mapping for cultural heritage. During his studies, Jan spent a semester on Landscape archaeology program at The University of Sheffield.
He has been involved in several projects as an archaeological surveyor or GIS operator for documenting sites such as prehistoric burial mounds, medieval castles or WWII and Cold war relics in Czech Republic, Poland, England. In 2017 was participating on excavations for British Museum in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Since 2014, Jan has been working as a land surveyor in New Zealand and Norway and GIS consultant for Museums and private archaeological companies. He has also assisted with geophysical surveys in remote areas of Western Australia.
